Tokyo is a city of contradictions. You’ll find both tradition and modernity. You’ll discover refined dining and sticky street food. Shiny glass skyscrapers are alternated with centuries-old temples. The neon lights, glass skyscrapers, and world-renowned hole-in-the-wall (speaking of contradictions) restaurants might capture your attention initially, but it’s ultimately the charming side of this city that’ll win your heart for life. It’s the soft pink of the cherry blossoms, the hectic, noisy markets, and the smell of street-food that leave the most lasting impressions. Tokyo is an exciting, eclectic mix of colours, smells, and sounds. You’ll find a new surprise around every corner.
My passion is travel, and photography – and I tend to do an insane amount of both. Last year that definitely worked out, and I was fortunate enough to travel all over Asia for a month. Admitted, I made the classic mistake of squeezing too many destinations into one trip, which eventually led to to idea of writing a travel hacking book. But then again, I figured when you’re that far from home you might as well see as much as possible. The trip provided me with a ton of pictures to publish this year, and I’m starting my series of monthly blog posts with Tokyo. View my Tokyo gallery here. Enjoy!
