You may have heard Jay Abraham speak about his world-renowned strategy of preeminence. Preeminence is the quality of being superior. This is what you want for your business. You want to be superior. You want to stand out. You want to be distinct and unique, and for good reason.

The best reason to stand above the crowd is because you are, simply, among the best or THE best. If you’re not effective, you’re definitely not the best. If your clients can’t place their trust in you, if they can’t depend on you to deliver on their needs every time, you will constantly struggle to reach the results you’re looking for. You can’t be considered the best at what you do, if nobody actually thinks you are. Yourself included.

Fake it until you make it?

This is why it is very important to move with integrity. Being the best has nothing to do with playing tricks on your audience, but everything with delivering value. “Fake it until you make it” is outdated, thanks to information being free and abundant on the internet (and beyond). Even if you’re just starting out, your clients should always feel as if you are pushing for the best for them. It doesn’t matter what industry you’re in. They should be confident in the fact that you are advising them to take the best road available to them, all the time.

Remember, your business is a reflection of you. You are your brand, so there’s no faking it. The Golden Rule applies, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Put yourself in your clients’ shoes. Would you be happy with your service? Do you expect certain things from your clients, but you don’t deliver on those things, yourself? If you want respectful clients, then you must give respect. Do you want honesty from your clients? Then you must be honest, also. Practice what you preach and always lead by example. From that value proposition you’ll be able to determine what your future business and clientele looks like. In the end, you attract the client you deserve.

Why you should charge a higher price

When a person is less than genuine, it shows. Your business is just as transparent. People pay those high prices for those jeans, for that trip of a lifetime, for that work of art because they know they are going to get what they need, a solution. If your accountant is constantly late for your appointments, messes up the numbers in your paperwork and then acts a bit disinterested when you complain, are you going to keep giving him or her your money? Of course not. You’d rather pay a higher price for an individual who is punctual, gets the numbers right and seems sincerely interested in making sure your business is doing well financially.

Integrity, sincerity, having your client’s best interest at heart, always striving to have the skills to be highly relevant to your clients, should be the core foundation of your business. When you operate from this mindset, it’s apparent that you are the better choice. And, of course, people are willing to pay more for something that is reliably solving their issues. It’s a win-win.
