We seem to be obsessed with happiness. A friend texted me the other day, asking me how happy I was. At that moment it was probably a 9, or even a 10. I was having a beer outside on my patio, in the midst of a Canadian winter – which is quite exceptional. The day before, it would have been a 3 or 4 after I just paid a speeding ticket. As I write this, probably an 8. I love writing, but I’m also getting a little hungry, tired from a good day of work and looking forward to take my dog out for a walk – it’s sunny out.

I don’t often write about movies, but this one is an exception. Hector and the search of happiness was very entertaining to watch, and I loved the position on happiness the movie portrays. Using travel as a catalyst for personal growth, Hector breaks out of his familiar surroundings to discover his true beliefs and passions. Travel is a great appetizer of true freedom in life, and I believe it has countless benefits to all areas of life.
