10 tips to take care of yourself abroad (and at home)
We’re often willing to do more for others, than for ourselves. As a result, most people do not take good care of themselves. They think having goals and dreams for their own life is selfish and self-indulgent. This could not be further from the truth. They forget that only when we do take care of ourselves in the ways that we need to, we are truly capable of being of real service to someone else. I have found this to be especially true when you’re away from “home” and from your usual, familiar support systems.
When traveling for extended periods, and especially when living abroad permanently, there are so many new and unfamiliar things to learn and take care of, that it is easy to forget to take care of yourself.
