Now that the initial fear of health risks are somewhat addressed – by staying at home – the next fear surfaces: losing your work and income. This one, arguably, is worse. It impacts your livelihood: your ability to provide a living for yourself, and, more importantly, your loved ones. Taking that sense of security away can be scary.
If you’ve read my Happiness book, you know I haven’t worked in traditional, full-time employment for quite some time now. I value my sense of independence, and have reverse-engineered my life around that principle of freedom in a meaningful way to me.
