Why I’m Running the Dash for Dogs Again This Year
Some causes touch your heart - others shape your life. For me, the work of BC & Alberta Guide Dogs does both. My mom is blind, and I’ve seen firsthand the incredible difference her guide dog makes every single day.
What may look like a simple partnership between a person and a dog is really something extraordinary: a lifeline of freedom, confidence, and independence.
This is why I’m running the Dash for Dogs again in February: a 5K fundraiser that supports the training and care of these amazing animals.
Every step I take is to support the training of these amazing animals, enabling people to live more independent lives.
The Power of Partnership
Guide dogs don’t just help people get from point A to point B. They open the door (yes, sometimes literally) to possibility. They help their humans to go places independently, feel safe and empowered, and to live life on their own terms. That’s why I want to support this worthy cause, and do my part to help others experience that same sense of independence and confidence.
Last year, many of you generously donated to this cause — and your support meant the world to me. If you’re able, I’d love your help again this year. Every dollar truly makes a difference:
$25+ gets you a tax receipt.
$100+ earns you a puppy sponsorship package, complete with a photo of “your” puppy and some adorable surprises like greeting cards.
$250+ puts you on your dog’s mailing list, so you can follow along as your sponsored pup grows, learns, and trains to become a guide dog.
Every donation helps raise, train, and place these incredible animals where they’re needed most.
