Is It Time For Your Social Media Detox?

After seeing this brilliant video, and being frustrated for some time now with the fact that “social media” has very little to do with “social” but everything with “media”, I’m going to undertake a little experiment. I’m going to take the social out of the media, to put it back in my life.
That’s right: I’m removing the oh-so popular personal social media apps from my phone. After all Facebook is like the fridge – you keep looking to see if there’s something new, but there never really is. Enough time wasted.
I am putting myself in “time out” until I can play nice with others, in real life. This may take time as I’m not sure if there are any people left “in real life”. Most of us have serious issues staying in touch, and involved, with our “friends” in the offline, aka “real life” world.
So here we go. I’m changing my social life by taking it back from the media. If you don’t hear from me anymore, you now know why. Shoot me a text, email, or postcard and maybe we can have a real conversa…
