How I traveled to New York on a shoestring
When I went to New York City for the first time, I was still in college. I didn’t have a lot of money to spend, and I had most of my meals at a food court in the basement of the Rockefeller Center. I personally love food courts, so I didn’t have much of an issue with eating there at all, and I still don’t today.
On a later trip, funded by a corporate expense account, I had a little more money to spend. I decided to have dinner at the restaurant that’s right at Battery Park. In summer they have a lovely patio, and I watched the sun set behind the Statue of Liberty, while having a great meal and a true New York Cheesecake for dessert.
Needless to say my bill for that night was slightly different from my usual food court bill. I loved both experiences equally and even today I don’t prefer one to the other.
