How To Use Credit Cards To Fund Your Travel

I go for credit and charge cards that give me travel points for every single dollar I spend on them. When I first learned about this I signed up for every program that’s out there. I gained some points, but nothing really happened – I was a long way away from getting any actual “reward”. Sure, I could get some nice gadgets for my points and miles, but not the actual travel I was after. The key, as with many things in life, lies in focus and dedication. I researched the amount of points or miles required for long haul as well as short haul flights, and selected only a few programs that provided the most value for my points. I’m simply not interested in those programs where I need 50,000 points for a one-way flight just to get across to another city in North America. If I’m lucky enough to get one point for every dollar spent that means I would need to spend 100,000 dollars to get a “free” return flight.
