Airports can be a tricky place to navigate, and everyone gets a little stressed by just the thought of all the hassle that comes with it. My vacation mindset starts to kick in the second I get to the airport or even on the way there, but it gets really going after I’m done dealing with the check-in, security and immigration checkpoints.
Depending on the airport I’m flying through, security can be more or less of a hassle. Most of the officers on duty are pretty friendly these days, but I have encountered exceptions. I treat them like any other government official: with the same respect I’d like to be treated with myself. I’ve never had any serious issues getting through. The same applies to immigration, although traveling through North America on a European passport while living in the Great White North isn’t always easy.
