Life Is An Etch-a-sketch – Try Something New Today
So for the longest time I was pondering on the idea on starting this blog about my journey in a fulltime artistic career. I hesitated – because what if it all fails? I might make a fool out of myself by writing down what I’m trying to do for months, all while the “experts” saw my failure coming from the start – of course without saying anything or offering useful advice to save me. They’d just sit there and watch me suffer.
In a way we all fail. Real courage is in the trying. So I decided to give it a shot anyway. Both the artistic career and writing about my journey. It turns out the writing is real therapeutic – I have a way to “revenge” my setbacks and struggles on my journey by writing about them. Overcoming hurdles has even become easier this way. I’m now just being grateful for another topic to write about and carry on with my day. It’s about progress, not perfection.
Regardless – Life is just like an Etch a Sketch. Just as you get it figured out, someone comes by and shakes the thing up and makes you figure it out all over again. To me, my scribbles turned out to be just a perfect way to describe and share some of the drawings on my etch a sketch. Failure or not – I’m trying.
