My biggest problem in building a business
My biggest problem in building a business? There are many – but the one I struggle with the most lately is not that people don’t buy what I’m offering. It’s not that everybody tells me they’re not interested. It’s not a lack of inspiration, time, or even money. It’s not even the invoicing and bookkeeping part – that’s easy. The biggest struggle I’m facing is the fact nobody responds anymore. You might as well call social media anti-social media: some of my “friends” seem to have a real issue with responding to emails, messages, texts, voicemails, and so on. I’m debating on going back to mail pigeons – but they don’t seem to like Canadian winters and flock to warmer places – smart as they are. So I’m left to figure it out on my own.
Let me be clear. I never expected all my friends to line up and buy my pictures – or books. Although I’d be the first to admit that books are easier to sell than fine art photography. Shelf space is usually easier to obtain than somebody’s wall space, simply…
