Every quarter, I set my goals for my life as a creative entrepreneur. Which sometimes means I spend a weekend resetting myself. Forgetting about everything I’ve been doing – and looking at what still works, and what doesn’t. My focus is always on setting SMART goals: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Tangible. I’ve taught “SMART” goals ad nauseam in my career as a Service Management consultant, but they apply in setting any other goals in your life, or creative business, as well.

Setting specific goals is the key to success. What do you actually want to achieve? Most folks know the story about the 1954 Harvard class that measured those who made goals and those who did not.
