The Reason You Started Still Matters
Why your story — even the messy, unfinished parts — is the key to creating real change
A lot of coaches, creatives, and helpers fall into the trap of thinking it’s enough to say, “I just want to help people.”
I get it. It sounds noble. But it’s not enough. (Sorry, but it’s not.)
Because that surface-level motivation — as nice as it may sound — won’t carry you through the long nights, the slow starts, or the moments when things don’t go according to plan. The noble intentions won’t fuel a sustainable business or career, especially when things get hard. And it will get hard.
The entrepreneurial dream will turn into a nightmare, eventually, and then again, from time to time.
True transformation — for yourself and others — comes from a deeper place. It starts with pain, passion, and the honest desire to create something different than the life you were handed. That’s not about helping others, it’s about helping you - and passing along the message.
I didn’t always know what I wanted
Looking back, I’ve had successes — some of them quite unexpected. And many of them came despite the circumstances I grew up in. Or maybe, in some twisted way, because of them.1
I didn’t want to repeat the patterns I saw around me. But that didn’t mean I was immune to them. I had to do the work. And I still do.
For me, the escape hatch was travel. Not as a vacation or an Instagram backdrop — but as a real, raw catalyst for change. Travel opened the door to freedom. Creativity helped me walk through it. And helping others... that came next, almost accidentally, as a byproduct of sharing what I’d learned.2
But if you’d asked me a few decades ago what I really wanted? I wouldn’t have had a clue. Now I do. And from time to time, I help others find their answer too.
You don’t need more time. You need less self-doubt.
One of the biggest myths we tell ourselves is that we’re not ready.
We say we need more time, more clarity, more experience. Waiting for the stars to align. But most of the time, the thing holding us back isn’t time. It’s the belief that we have to get it perfect. Or that we have to figure it all out on our own.
What if you didn’t?
What if having access to a proven path — something simple, sustainable, and flexible — could be enough to set you free from the need to “get it right”?
“Freedom is the only worthy goal in life. It is won by disregarding things that lie beyond our control.” ~ Epictetus
You don’t need permission. You don’t need perfection. You just need a place to begin — and a reason to keep going.
