Why do we travel?

Travel is about the value of the experience you get. The unexpected twists, the perfect moments, the memories you bring along with you. It is about finding yourself lost and jet-lagged in the middle of Asia. It’s also about relaxing on a deserted island in the Philippines. Buying fresh crab and fish from local fisherman, straight out the water. It’s the never ending sound of sirens in New York City.
Travel writer Pico Iyer made a connection between travel and love:
“Travel is a heightened state of awareness, in which we are mindful, receptive, undimmed by familiarity and ready to be transformed.”
