I recently adopted a new annual tradition, which is to escape the Canadian winters with a week in the Bahamas. On my first trip there, I learned about an interesting “bucket list” item, according to some: swimming with pigs. While one of the beach vendors peaked my interest with this odd type of excursion, swimming with pigs never was on my bucket list. It might have not made the cut because of me being blissfully unaware that swimming with pigs was a thing, or maybe it should have never been really something I was interested in. Either way, it turned out to be an interesting sight.

The pigs live on Big Major Cay, one of the many islands in the Exuma district of the Bahamas. My new beach-vendor-friend explained the day trip would take us to the uninhabited island Pig Beach. I wonder how they came up with the name. The only way to get there is by boat, his boat preferably. In addition to the pigs some other activities were on the agenda as well, including iguanas and a beach picnic. Not bad, but, as I told him, the cost of several hundred dollars per person to take me from one beach to another beach (albeit with pigs) was a little steep. As a general guideline I wouldn’t spend more than $200, preferably quite a bit less. And go there with a tour company that’s affiliated with your hotel or resort. Leaving the beach with a random vendor is not necessarily a good idea, despite the official looking badges.

Admitted, the cost of the excursion was’t much of a concern. My entire trip to Bahamas was travel-hacked together. I didn’t pay for flights (just taxes), and didn’t pay for the resort (also again just taxes). My annual trip to Atlantis shows that travel hacking has nothing to do with cheap travel. It’s about upgrading your travel experience. I did it – and so can you. The question I have for you is: Will you? And where would you go?

This week, I’ll be recording additional content for my new Travel Revolution course. This course takes your traveling experience to the next level, and takes you step-by-step through the programs and services I use. Using screen recordings of my own accounts, I literally show you:

  • How I constantly book free and deeply discounted airfare.
  • How I travel-hacked Las Vegas and got upgraded to “high-roller” status.
  • How I get an annual free Caribbean vacation.
  • And much, much more…

My online program will change your traveling life forever. If you’re at least a little curious, request an invitation to the program here. I’d love for you to “just fly” (and maybe swim with the pigs or join me for drinks next winter in the Bahamas).
