This post is an example of the content I share every Friday in my Living by Experience Magazine. If you’d like your free copy, just click here.

After an almost month-long journey through Central America, being completely disconnected from everything (that’s the way I like it) I just logged back into Facebook for the first time. It hit me more than ever that a lot of my “friends” are trying to sell me something, instead of share from their life’s experiences.

The amount is success coaches in particular is overwhelming. Sure, through my books and online courses I dabble in the self help arena a bit too, but the point is to share from what I’ve learned and already have done myself through the work I do. The point is not to just share what I have learned. I have actually done the things I write about and share in my books, and on this blog. Writing a number one bestseller is not something I teach because I know the system, I share the steps I have already taken so others can benefit from my experience. There’s a fine line of nuance there – and maybe you need to embark on a three week trip yourself before you see it.

The point is not to just share what I have learned.

We’re so embedded in a world of being sold to that we forget who we truly are and why we do the things we do. My request to my friends (and acquaintances) is to share from that standpoint of authenticity first. What does your day look like? Don’t tell me you’re selling golf lessons – share about your golf experience. Don’t tell me about your next success seminar, demonstrate your success in the things you do everyday.

While I post about my travel hacking book every once in a while, most of my friends now know (or should know) I wrote a book. Being my loyal friend I’m sure you bought a copy to support me (thanks!). But what it’s all about for me is the travel. That’s what I mostly share on my social media. I practice what I preach and travel all the time, paying somewhere between nothing and very little for airfare. If that creates enough curiosity and if it’s something you want for yourself, read my post on free airfare here or do yourself a favour and buy a copy of my travel hacking book.

Thanks and bon voyage!
