Stop talking about your goals. Yeah, I said it. Don’t talk about your goals anymore. And while I’m at it: get rid of your vision board. I cleaned mine out the other day. I had enough of positive thinking for the sake of positive thinking. It doesn’t work. Vision boards are fun to make if you want some clarity or like arts and crafts in general, but they don’t make anything happen.
Forget About Your Goals
Settings goals can be a fun process. But there’s infinitely more people talking about travelling and/or writing a book than the ones who do something (or anything) to get that one step closer to their goal. Only action does. Be less passive about what matters most.
Forget about your goals. Don’t think about them. Sure, write your goals down to get clarity on what you want to achieve – but then “set and forget”. Get back to work. Your goals don’t mean anything if you don’t take action.
This may not be the most popular thing to say with positive-thinking quotes coming at us from every possible direction on social media. Stop sharing content. Stop sharing your beliefs. Knowledge ends in action. Don’t share a book, act on it. Use it. Get an experience. And share that.
Convert Goals Into Reality
Converting goals into reality requires taking action. Now. The biggest secret to success is doing something. If your goal is to own a Porsche your chances to have one in the garage get significantly better if you go out to the dealership vs. continue to stare at that picture on your vision board.
“Other people’s views and troubles can be contagious. Don’t sabotage yourself by unwittingly adopting negative, unproductive attitudes through your associations with others.” ~ Epictetus
Follow your passion. Set your goals. And then go with the flow of opportunities. Keep taking that next step.
We all have the same amount of time: 24 hours in a day. You can’t save or lose time, all you can do is spend it on things that matter. Stop waiting for things to begin. Your life is happening right now. You’re right in it and you got this.
