How To Travel Often – Even If You Don’t Have Enough Time Or Money

The one thing in life I’ve always done, regardless of my situation, income, time, or any other external circumstances is one thing: travel. I do it all the time. I’m usually going on a trip (near or far) at least once a month. It may be just to the next town over (Calgary is a great home base for quick trips to the mountains), a weekend city trip (New York, Las Vegas, or Vancouver are some of my favourites), or somewhere more exotic like South America or the Caribbean. You can read the stories, tips and recommendations from all these places by clicking on the respective links.
Travel Often
I always travel. Even when I have no time, or money, or other external circumstances that appear to get in the way of getting away. My travel hacking principles are based entirely on the lack of money to travel after I moved to Canada from Europe somewhere in my twenties. I’ve traveled on a shoestring, and had equal amounts of fun (or better said: experience value) from those trips as the more expensive trips I was able to go on later. If I’m pressed for time I can still opt to go on a shorter trip, and enjoy the benefits of stepping away for a few days and come home mentally refreshed.
I enjoy the work I do, and work hard during often long days – and stepping away and not do anything for a while helps me enjoy it all. Some of my better business ideas have come to me when I wasn’t “working” at all, sipping a cocktail by the pool somewhere or roaming the streets of some far-away city. Traveling helps you to change the way you look at the world – including your own world.
Where To Next?
Need a break of your own? Where would you travel if airfare was free? What’s that next step on your travel-bucket-list: the one place you’ve never visited, but always wanted to see. Start with some planning today – even if you don’t have the time or money right now, it doesn’t hurt to look and establish some goals for yourself. What would it take to just fly and go there?
